October 22, 2000 – November 15, 2022

It is with broken heart that Chloe’s family announce her unexpected death at her home in Iroquois Falls after loosing the battle against addiction at the age of 22. She will be deeply missed her parents Holly Berlinghoff & Dave DeMatteo, siblings Destiny Ross, Desiree Hanson and Sianna Berlinghoff, nieces and nephews Rylan and Sophia Ross, Aiyanne & Sylus Hanson, grandmother Theresa Berlinghoff, aunts and uncles Tammy (Daryl) Carpenter, Jessey Berlinghoff and Jason Berlinghoff (Amanda Leonard), cousins Danyka Carpenter, Tylar Carpenter, Daphne Berlinghoff, Orianna Berlinghoff and Shayla Berlinghoff. Chloe was predeceased in 2019 by her grandfather Jerome Berlinghoff.

Heroin told her “I can make you feel accepted, I can make you feel alright, I can make you feel worthy , I can make you feel normal , I can make you feel loved , I can make you feel nothing and I can make you feel like everything will be ok.”

What it didn’t tell her was how it would devastate her family and tear it apart. How it would take her sparkle and her smile. How it would take and take and take until it took her life.

Chloe never wanted to be defined by her addiction and mistakes… She was a beautiful, intelligent girl who fell into the grip. It can happen to anyone. She was feisty and outspoken, but she would do anything for anyone with her heart of gold. She believed in second chances, for herself and others. She loved her family deeply. She loved animals of all sorts along with nature. She loved to sing and dance, and she loved children and so much more. We will miss her greatly and we hope to find comfort knowing her lost could help others fighting addictions battle.

No formal funeral services will be held, and private funeral arrangements have been entrusted to:
