Delia “Dee” Durham (Cadeau)
November 29, 1922 – May 23, 2021
Delia passed away peacefully Sunday morning May 23rd, 2021 with the love of her family surrounding her. She was predeceased by her husband Harvey Durham, “The love of her life”. Her greatest joy was the children they raised together. Dedicated mother of Bruce (Beth), Kathleen (Ken) Maynard, Dennis (Cathy) and Marilyn (Graden) Andrews. As well as her10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She treasured every moment with them and we are all grateful for her constant support, encouragement and love.
Delia was interested in genealogy and researched information on the history of both the Durham and Cadeau families. She will be deeply missed by her nieces and nephews because she was the one who kept our extended family connected.
Delia was born in a logging camp near Shillington and spent the majority of her life in the local area so she was well known by many people in our town. She often amazed people with her recall of names, birthdates and family connections within our local communities.
One of the most exciting aspects of her life experience occurred when she voluntarily joined the Royal Canadian Air Force at the age of 19. She was posted to Bomber Command operations on the East coast where she participated in highly confidential work requiring excellent memory skills.
The Blue Jays and Leafs have lost a dedicated fan of their games!
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Bruno, the staff at the South Centennial Manor for their kindness and compassion. And also the staff from the CCAC who made it possible for Delia to remains in her home as long as possible.
Donations in memory of Delia to Bingham Memorial Hospital in Matheson or the Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
A private family service will take place on Thursday May 27, 2021 at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Matheson at 10 am. The Graveside service will be live streamed (Use the link below to joint us).
