In loving memory of

Mr. Douglas J. Randa

December 19, 1946 – September 11, 2020

It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden passing at his home in Cochrane. Doug leaves behind his daughter Tracy Cave (Eric), his grandchildren Michael, Darren (Ashley), Alison (Tyler) and Benjamin and his great grandson Carter.  His sister Bonnie Randa and brother Brian Randa  sister-in-law Anne and Marg Zajac (Zack) and many nephews and nieces. He is predeceased by his beautiful wife Marilyn, his parents Toivo and Josephine and brother Jimmy.

Doug will be remembered by many for his hockey playing abilities. He was a Gentle giant, a hardworking, quiet and very private man.  He worked many years on the road for T.E Rody Ltd as Party Chief and a surveyor. Since his retirement he has enjoyed fishing, gardening and woodworking. He could often be found in the basement working on something, especially in his grandchildren’s younger years, if they asked him to make something he was on it, and had recently expanded his workshop so he could work on projects with his youngest grandson Benjamin, he was so excited every time Ben brought a new piece of wood to the house. When it came to his grandchildren he would have done anything. He has left us far too soon and will be missed by many and remembered by all.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Cochrane, (donations payable by cheques only and can be mailed to 149 Third Street West, Cochrane, Ontario, P0L 1C0).

A graveside service will be held at the Cochrane Civic Cemetery on Saturday September 19th at 1pm where he will be laid to rest alongside his beautiful wife.
