James passed away unexpectedly at his home at the Apitipi Anicinapek Nation on Wednesday September 13th, 2023 at the age of 50. He was the son of late Elizabeth Babin and grandson of late Edward Babin. He was the cherished father of late Sylvia (Hummingbird) Diamond-Babin, Billy (Robin) Babin, Kelly Babin, David Babin. James was a loving grandfather to Xavier, Lenny, Cohen, Aurora and Molly, brother of Bear (Muluk) Babin and Nigel Babin, loving Uncle to Jay (Tash), Shawn, Sabien, Brandon, Bear, Odae, Danis, and Juju. James will be deeply missed by his family, and many close friends.
The wake will be held at the Apitipi Anicinapek Nation (Wahgoshig First Nation), 140 Concession Road, on Saturday September 16th, 2023 from 10 am. The Funeral Procession will leave from the Community center at 11 am on Sunday September17th, 2023 and the interment will take place beside his grandfather in the Apitipi Anicinapek Nation Cemetery.
