James “Jim” Osmars

March 13, 1939 - January 10, 2022

It is with great sorrow that the family of James “Jim” Osmars wish to announce his passing at Lady Minto Hospital in Cochrane on Monday January 10, 2022 at the age of 82.

Jim was predeceased by his parents Carl and Margaret (Armstrong), his brother Ron and Ron’s wife Patricia also nephew William (Bill).

Jim is survived by his sister Carol Downie (Fred) and her children Christine (Ron) and JamieAnne (Dave) Hingley and their families (Carly, Grace and Claire). His brother Richard “Rick” (Shirley) and their children Jayson and Alison, Nephew David (Fran), nieces Shelley and Cheryl and their families. Jim will be remembered fondly by relatives and many friends.

Jim was a proud member of Knox Presbyterian Church and a retired employee of the Ministry of Transport where he enjoyed working for many years.

The family would like to thank the staff at Lady Minto Hospital for the care given to him in his final months and to the many home support workers who went above their duties for Jim. Also a special thanks for the assistance provided by other residents at Birch Villa.

A “Celebration of Life” will be held at a later date which will be announced for anyone who wishes to attend.
