Bob was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and his family moved to Geraldton, Ontario when he was only a few months old. He left Geraldton as a teenager to become a welder and left Canada behind for a few years to travel in New Zealand and Australia. He was called back when his father became ill. He settled back into life in Canada, got a job and got married and started a family. He worked as a high pressure welder for TransCanada Pipeline for 31 years and moved from Geraldton, to Kingston, Ontario and then back up north to Ramore, Ontario where he remained after retirement. He never lost his love of the outdoors, hunting, archery, golf, curling and hockey.
Cremation has taken place and his ashes will be laid to rest next to mom's in the Pinegrove Cemetery in Geraldton, Ontario later this summer at a private family gathering. As per his wishes there will be no celebration of life.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Anson General Hospital in Iroquois Falls, the Bingham Memorial Hospital in Matheson and the Timmins and District Hospital for all the wonderful care provided over the last several years.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Canadian Blood Services.
